Each alloy in the Identalloy program carries an identification symbol noting the specific alloy category as established by the ADA Council on Dental Materials, instruments and Equipment in 1984. These categories reflect differences in composition, as indicated below. Only alloys in the Identalloy Program are permitted to use these symbols.
